Hi to all of my blogging friends! The weather has broken and we are going to have a couple of cooler days before it gets hot again. We have also had several very welcome thunderstorms (lots of wind damage though but my community wasn’t hit hard). We are still in a drought and will probably break the record for 90 degree days but I don’t feel so beaten down.
That said, I have some good news. In the last few days, I received word that I was lucky enough to have paintings accepted for both the Midwest National Abstract Show and the Watercolor Society of Indiana Show. Both are juried (Cheng Kee Chee juried the WSI show) and the WSI show hangs at the Indianapolis Museum of Art where I am a docent so being accepted into that show is particularly special. I know you have seen these before but here is the painting that was accepted for the Abstract show.
It is on a full sheet of Crescent Illustration Board and is my first full sheet abstract using this style. Scaling up is SCAAARRRY!
The painting accepted by WSI is on a full sheet (these are smaller than full sheets of WC paper and illustration board although I think larger sheets are available now) of the new watercolor board made by Arches.
