We are in the middle of a mind-boggling, busy week with many treatments and appointments but everything seems to be going well. Two weeks ago I prepped a small sheet of Fluid watercolor paper with a MASA paper collage and a background underpainting done when the collage was still wet. I used this to do a painting of a drawing I did a few weeks ago. I had many distractions and the painting shows it but it was good practice and I was pleased to find some time to paint.

  1. Yummy looking apple. So glad that you continue to paint.

    • It can be a struggle to find time right now but I try to keep some simple supplies with me when we are at the Cancer Center. It is very distracting and comforting to be working creatively when Ken is going through treatment. I can’t help him so it keeps me quiet and “out of the way”. A productive use of my time rather than worrying all the time.

This piece is so delicate in comparison to some other others you have painted recently. The love the colors and the transparent feeling I get from it. I’m simply amazed at your ability to always find time for your work in the midst of your busy schedule. I wish I were so disciplined!

    • Thank you. It can be tough but I always carry a backpack with some art supplies in it and I work a few minutes at a time when we are at home. I’m not really disciplined. Painting and drawing are my escape – a few minutes at a time.
